Breathing Again: Mrs. Niken’s Recovery from Advanced Lung Cancer with ECCT Support

Recovery from Advanced Lung Cancer

Ten months ago, Mrs. Niken began experiencing shortness of breath and severe pain in the center of her chest. Even walking a short distance left her gasping for air. A CT scan at the hospital revealed a mass in her right lung located behind the heart, measuring more than 7 cm, accompanied by massive pleural effusion.

A biopsy confirmed the presence of malignant cells, identified as adenocarcinoma. Since her EGFR mutation test came back positive, her doctor prescribed only a targeted drug, Gefitinib.

Lung cancer is often diagnosed at a late stage. Statistically, with standard treatment, patients with non-small cell lung cancer survive an average of only 4–9 months, with the 5-year survival rate close to 0%. Therefore, Mrs. Niken decided to seek alternative options to complement her treatment. After learning about other ECCT users with similar cases who have survived more than 10 years in a normal condition and became cancer-free, Mrs. Niken decided to start ECCT treatment concurrently with targeted therapy and begin her Recovery from Advanced Lung Cancer.

Mrs. Niken experienced a relatively quick response to therapy. Her symptoms of chest pain and breathlessness improved significantly within a month. Therapy response usually depends on how well the body eliminates waste. In Mrs. Niken’s case, most of the waste was expelled through thick phlegm. As waste elimination improved, her condition steadily got better, her symptoms subsided, and the tumor mass began to shrink. A CT scan after 3 months of ECCT usage showed the tumor had reduced in volume by about 30–40%. The tumor's characteristics aligned with a moderate-to-high polarity level.

After 6 months of using the device, Mrs. Niken’s general condition returned to near normal. Her symptoms had mostly disappeared, and she had resumed her usual activities. A follow-up CT scan showed further tumor shrinkage, with a 50% reduction from the original size. A small amount of fluid remained in her lungs. We hope she continues to improve and stays healthy.
